How I Work

No matter your concerns, fears, or secrets –I have heard a lot of peoples’ backgrounds and I am rarely surprised,  but always touched by each person’s own life story.  Be assured that you will be treated in a safe, respectful, and confidential manner.   In addition, you can count on me to me to be objective, honest, and compassionate.

My treatment approach depends on the needs of the client, and no client is exactly the same.

I have been trained in different treatment models including:

Cognitive-Behavioral, Person-Centered, Solution-Oriented,  Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, and Family Systems, and I may utilize methods from different ones.   In general, I primarily focus on present-day problems and barriers to find viable solutions, so you can move forward and be an active participant in life as soon as possible.

It can very helpful in therapy to examine your process of thoughts and exploration of feelings,  and it may also mean exploring underlying experiences, motives, and systems that contributed to your present state. This insight may help you to break some old ineffective patterns from the past, so you may have a brighter future.
